This Kingston airbnb is truly a little gem. The perfect location to stay while visiting Kingston, enjoy gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Ontario and the Kingston Yacht Club. Sarah Jane, the owner of the home is a talented local food consultant and educator. She brings an abundance of energy and passion to food and culinary in our historical limestone city. She is currently building her own brand as a freelance consultant and with that, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from all over the world. It was a privilege to hang out with Sarah Jane in her perfectly decorated home. We hung out in the kitchen, we chatted and laughed while listening to music and she whipped us up some seriously delicious pasta from scratch (That she learnt to master the art of while living in Italy and attending a cookery school where she cooked, taught and farmed for several years.) From there she has been back and fourth from the continent studying under some of Europe’s most regarded affineurs and cheesemakers, natural wine producers and farmers. She has had the pleasure of working under some of the best in her industry including chef, author and tv personality Darina Allen. Locally, she worked as the creative food director for Stone City Ales and most recently with chef Clark Day, at Bayview Farm Restaurant.
This summer she has been exploring in Fernie, BC and working on her latest project, which is being the head creative food director for a restaurant opening soon. Sarah Jane is well on her way to accomplishing big things in the food and culinary industry and i’m honoured to have spent time with her documenting her in her element doing what she loves.
